John Giampetro (Meteorologist)<\/p><\/div>\n

Thank you very much for coming over here to check out my Word Press site.\u00a0 What you’ll find here will be a variety of topics, ranging from\u00a0from weather blogs to historical weather videos.\u00a0 This site will serve as an extension to my main website at www.ezweather.com<\/a>.\u00a0 There you can find a variety of weather sources from Forecasts, Climate Data, Model Data, Discussions, Resources and my Webcast Videos.\u00a0My biggest goals right now is to forecast a national two week outlook on\u00a0hazardous weather and provide a risk rating.\u00a0 This will aide the public\u00a0to plan ahead of time for hazardous weather in the future.\u00a0I’ll be providing audio and TV like webcasts\u00a0on these webcast videos.\u00a0 Stay tune for further details in my blogs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Just to back things a bit, how did I get so interested in tracking the weather and why did I\u00a0want to\u00a0become a meteorologist.\u00a0 My interest in weather began back in 1979 when Tropical Storm David passed west of Philadelphia.\u00a0 Originally, David was a powerful category 5 hurricane, which had peak winds of 175mph when it struck the Dominican Republic.\u00a0 I remember waking up late at night, hearing the winds roar, but what was really unique was seeing the green lightning.\u00a0 It was a night I would never forget.\u00a0 From that time, I found myself always tracking the weather whether it was drawing weather maps, writing down weather observations or always catching weather broadcasts. Two of my favorite on air weather personalities at the time was Jim O\u2019Brian and Herb Clarke.\u00a0<\/p>\n

After several years of hard work, I received my degree from Penn State University in the Spring of 1998.\u00a0 I belong to several professional weather organizations, National Weather Association, American Meteorological Society, and the AMS Delaware Philadelphia Area Chapter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
